Technology, at its core, is for everyone. It impacts and shapes our lives in unimaginable ways, and as it advances, its influence becomes even more profound. But if this field truly affects us all, shouldn’t we then adopt a more inclusive perspective towards the future?
Several studies have shown that diverse teams are more creative, innovative and able to solve complex problems faster, in this sense they can drive new strategies, perspectives and solutions that better reflect the needs and expectations of users. Inclusion of cultures and experiences has proven to be not only an ethical principle, but also an effective strategy to foster creativity and excellence in technology development.
A Harvard Business Review study found that teams composed of different profiles have a greater ability to solve complex problems up to 87% more effectively than homogeneous teams.
This industry has always been at the forefront of change, leading developments in Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity and much more. However, one of the biggest challenges facing this sector is the lack of female representation. An international study by FMC Travel reveals that 53% of women feel they do not have the same access to management positions as men.
At Walmeric we want to contribute to this change. We work daily to strengthen and value the role of women in technology.
A few months ago, we launched a new initiative called Walmerian Woman, with the aim of getting to know the leaders of our team better. Through this idea, through truly inspirational interviews, we explore their day-to-day life from a work perspective. They share with us the challenges they have bravely overcome, their experiences in managing teams, and valuable advice for those who are starting out on this path. In addition, they enrich us with lessons learned from other leaders. All of this is done with the intention of encouraging the inclusion of diverse perspectives and experiences.
